Oberlin Club of Washington, DC: The Walter Behr ’39 Ice Cream Social

Tradition continues as the Oberlin Club of Washington, D.C., holds its annual summer reception to send off first-year students from our area.

This year's program will be a virtual pie and ice cream event that will feature a message from Dr. Johnnetta Cole '57, an Oberlin trustee, former Director of the National Museum of African Art, former President of Spelman College and Bennett College, educator, and anthropologist. Dr. Cole also will answer questions about her love of Oberlin and her experiences leading a major museum. She will be introduced by trustee Amy Chen '79, Chief Investment Officer of the Smithsonian.

Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email with information on how to access the event.

Please join us in a warm celebration of Oberlin that will include meeting the enrolling students, send-off gifts, and special greetings from alumni.

This event is named in honor of Walter Behr '39, a generous supporter of the Oberlin Club of Washington, D.C. For many years, Walter hosted our summer programs at the Somerset Town Hall in Maryland.
