Please join fellow alumni for a Virtual Art Talk on Calder & Picasso from the de Young Museum. Docent Alfred Escoffier will focus on the current exhibit (on thru May 23) of Alexander Calder and Pablo Picasso, two of the most innovative and influential artists of the twentieth century.
This exhibition juxtaposes artworks by the two artists, revealing both the intriguing parallels and the unique visions that made each distinctive. The artworks reaffirm the revolutionary contributions of two artists who transformed our conceptions of form and space—and thus the very definition of art itself.
The 45 minute talk is followed by a short Q & A.
Hosted by Sandy Miller '63 with technical assistance by Tom Breunig '79 on our new Oberlin Club of San Francisco Bay Area Zoom account.
All registrants will receive a future email with information on how to access the event.
Please note: No recordings of the talk are allowed per our agreement with the museum.
