"Unraveling The College Rankings: Where Does Oberlin Stand?"
A Zoom Conversation with Ross Peacock, Assistant Vice President for Institutional Research and Planning, Oberlin College; Moderated by Ted Gest ’68.
Starting with U.S. News & World Report in the 1980s, an increasing number of publications have been ranking colleges and universities, using a confusing (and often changing) set of criteria. Oberlin ranks high by some measures, low (among liberal arts colleges) by others.
Join us for a talk with Ross Peacock, Oberlin’s Assistant Vice President for Institutional Research and Planning, to explore how Oberlin is faring in the various rankings and what they say about our strengths and weaknesses.
Ted Gest ’68 will lead the discussion. Ted is a distinguished journalist whose career included a 24-year stint at U.S. News & World Report. He is president and co-founder of Criminal Justice Journalists, the nation’s only association of criminal justice reporters. He is currently a member of the Alumni Leadership Council of the Oberlin College Alumni Association.
