"An Evening of Ice Cream, Socializing, and Welcoming the Class of 2026
The Walter Behr ’39 Ice Cream Social"
A Gathering of Alumni, Current and Incoming Students, Family, and Friends
- Plenty of parking
- The Town Hall is located north of the Friendship Heights Metro
For the first time since 2019, the D.C. Club will host the “Summer Ice Cream Social.” We will gather at our traditional venue, the Somerset Town Hall. This year as we inch our way outward, we will keep the proceedings simple: it’s all about ice cream and greeting each other. Come and enjoy dessert and conversation as nightfall descends. Use your imagination and pretend we’re together at Tappan Square on Illumination night.
Connect with Obies and chat with local members of the incoming class of 2026 who will be heading to campus at the end of the month. Alumni, students, family, and friends are all welcome. There is plenty of space at the Town Hall to socialize in the open air.
The program is named in honor of Walter Behr ’39, the longtime Mayor of Somerset who generously sponsored our events at the Town Hall. We are grateful to Maya Weil ’86 for hosting us this year.
We’ll supply the ice cream and toppings. You bring your own beverage, e.g., water, etc., or anything you’d like to share.
A gift will be provided to those in the Class of 2026 who attend!
