"Eckington Day Celebration"
An In-person Obie Gathering in DC’s Alethia Tanner Park
~ Program is co-sponsored by The Network of Oberlin Asian Alumni (NOAA) ~
The Network of Oberlin Asian Alumni (NOAA) invites you to celebrate Eckington Day in DC's Alethia Tanner Park! This family-friendly neighborhood celebration will include live music, face painting, and a martial arts demonstration by the DC Capoeira group.
We’ll meet up in the park at 10:30 a.m., support local artists, and mingle with fellow Obies. Snacks will be available for purchase. At 11:00 a.m., we’ll enjoy the martial arts demonstration. After that, you can stay and enjoy the rest of the festival at your leisure. Kim Meinert ’07 will be your host.
The park is located at 227 Harry Thomas Way NE, Washington, DC 20002, about 10 minutes walking distance from the NoMa-Gallaudet U metro stop on the Red Line. Children are welcome! Meet in the corner of the park at the corner of Harry Thomas Way NE and Quincy Lane NE, and look for alums wearing Oberlin gear. This is a free event.
