The Oberlin Alumni Club of San Francisco Bay Area invites you to an Elephant Seal Guided Walk at the Ano Nuevo Marine Education Center in the Ano Nuevo State Park on Saturday, February 25, 2023. December 15, 2022 to March 31, 2023 is breeding season, so the elephant seals are hauled up on the beaches of Ano Nuevo at this time, along with their pups.

9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. - Elephant Seal Guided Walk

This guided walk takes the full two-and-a-half hours and is 3-4 miles in distance with most of the walking taking place on boardwalks and sand dunes.
Ano Nuevo State Park is roughly 30 miles south of Half Moon Bay on California State Route 1. The exit is well marked.
Public transit: no busses available.
Don't forget binoculars, camera, sunscreen, and water. As with any California coastal event, wear layers; it can be cold and windy. Food cannot be consumed during the walk (but there are picnic tables at the Marine Education Center for before and after).
