You're invited to join Tom Breunig '79 on a hike of the Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve that features a volcanic complex that was the source, 10 million years ago, of most of the lava that underlies the ridges from Inspiration Point in Tilden Park, to Moraga. Join us for a looping hike of about 4 miles that includes open hilltops and a view of Mt. Diablo. For those who wish to have lunch together we can head into Lafayette.
The walk may be quite dry and hot, so bring hats, sunscreen snacks and plenty of water.
We will meet at the Sibley Staging Area at 6800 Skyline Blvd., Oakland. There are 38 parking spots there, so there should be ample parking. Carpooling encouraged. Heavy rain cancels.
