The Annual Walter Behr '39 Ice Cream Social...This Year Featuring Gelato!
A Gathering of the DC Oberlin Community and a Welcome to the Class of 2028
We again celebrate the last month of summer by gathering with fellow Obies to welcome local members of the incoming Class of 2028! The Club will conduct a short program, and we anticipate there will be other activities that will add to the fun, including a group picture to show the power of our community. As an added treat, this year, the Club will distribute gelato sandwiches (a vegan option will be available)! If you’re coming, please register to help us prepare. Also, to reduce our footprint on the environment, please bring a container with your own water.
The program is named in memory of Walter Behr ’39, the longtime Mayor of Somerset who for many years welcomed us to the Town Hall. We also are grateful to Maya Weil ’86 who again serves as our sponsor for this event, and to Suzanne Ludlow ’81 who made the arrangements for the gelato.
The venue is north of Friendship Heights Metro and there is plenty of parking on-site. We look forward to sharing your company and conversation!
