Join fellow Oberlin alumni for a hike from Muir Beach (Parking Lot) to Muir Woods, starting at 9:00 a.m.
LOCATION: We’ll meet at the Muir Beach Parking Lot. From 101, take Route 1 North towards Stinson Beach. Turn left on Pacific Way (at the Pelican Inn). Bear left into the parking lot near the end of Pacific Way. If there isn’t room in the the Muir Beach Parking Lot, there are usually spots along Frank Valley Road near the Redwood Creek Trailhead. There are restrooms at both Muir Beach Parking Lot and the Muir Woods Visitor Center.
HIKE: From Muir Beach Parking Lot, we follow the Redwood Creek to get to Muir Woods Visitor Center. After a walk through the Redwoods, we’ll retrace our steps back to Muir Beach. Distance: 3 miles out, ~2 miles in Muir Woods, 3 miles back, total about 8 miles.
Afterwards we’ll meet at the pub in Pelican Inn for coffee/drink/lunch.
NOTE: we’re meeting at Muir Beach NOT Muir Woods: there is limited cell service at Muir Woods and even more limited Uber/Lyft service at the entrance.
COST: The fee to get into Muir Woods is $15. Each guest is responsible for their own bill at Pelican Inn.
