- The panel discussion will feature Oberlin entertainment industry alumni and parents reflecting on the pivotal conversations, mentors and moments that have defined their careers.

PARKING INSTRUCTIONS:
Parking is located underground, entrance off of Masselin Ave in between Wilshire Blvd. and 8th St. Please follow the signs and the valet will assist you on where to park. Take the north elevator to the 6th floor and suite 650. Parking will be validated at the reception desk.

FOR THOSE TAKING UBER:
Enter 5700 Wilshire Blvd. from Wilshire by entering through the Coffee Bean on the lobby floor. Walk through there to the north elevators, take them to the 6th floor and suite 650 is right there.

MEET THE PANEL:
Moderator:
Kieran Mulroney P’21 is a screenwriter/director who got his start on the film Mr. & Mrs. Smith. More recent credits include Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows and Power Rangers. As a director, he co-wrote and co-directed the film Paperman starring Emma Stone, Jeff Daniels and Ryan Reynolds with his wife and partner Michele Mulroney. Currently he is working on a project for director Ron Howard and Imagine Films and an adaptation of the book Night Circus for Lionsgate.

Panelists:
Elisabeth (Lizzy) Bentley
P’23 is a writer/producer, most recently shepherding A Hidden Life, the story of Franz Jagerstatter, to the screen. A Hidden Life premiered at Cannes in 2019 and is currently in theaters (dir. Terrence Malick). Bentley’s previous films include Beautiful Darling (2010) about Candy Darling, Warhol superstar and transgender pioneer and Nanking (2008). Bentley has been nominated for a WGA Award and shortlisted for the Documentary Oscar. Her films have screened at the Berlinale, Sundance, MoMA and the Film Society of Lincoln Center. In 2019 Bentley founded Marginalia Pictures to bring the visions of non-legacy filmmakers from the margins to the center. She’s the proud mom of Isaiah O’Neal, Oberlin ’23.

Stefan Grube ‘03 is a film editor. His projects include the feature films Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker (2019), Tully (2018), The Front Runner (2018), 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) and The Unrecovered (2007).

Arge O'Neal P’23 came to Los Angles in 1990 and began working in the cutting room on the first season of Fox's new show Beverly Hills, 90210 as an assistant editor. After earning an MFA in UCLA's School of Theater Film and Television, he went on to work as a picture editor on television shows such as The West Wing, House, Crime & Punishment, Monk, John From Cincinatti, You're the Worst, and most recently Goliath for Amazon Studios. He's a member of the American Cinema Editors and The Television Academy and the proud father of Isaiah O'Neal, a first year currently enrolled at Oberlin.

Ry Russo-Young ’03 is a writer, director, producer of film and television. Russo-Young’s fifth feature film, The Sun is Also a Star, was released by Warner Brothers in May, 2019. The movie is an adaptation of Nicola Yoon’s 2016 NY Times Bestseller starring Yara Shahidi and Charles Melton. Russo-Young’s previous film, Before I Fall, was released in 2017 by Open Road and starred newcomer Zoey Deutch in a breakout performance. Russo-Young also directed and co-wrote alongside Lena Dunham in the drama Nobody Walks starring Olivia Thirlby, John Krasinski, and Rosemarie Dewitt. Her feature films have premiered and won awards at numerous international film festivals including Sundance, Stockholm, Torino, SXSW and TriBeCa. Russo-Young currently lives in Los Angeles with her family.

Carrie Stein P’23 has worked in the entertainment industry for over 25 years in all phases of the business, including feature film, television development, and production. Carrie’s specialty over the last 15 years has been developing and packaging scripted series for the global market, including co-productions, pre-sales and original production in local markets. For the last two years Stein has been working as the EVP of Global Scripted Series at Kew Media where she's responsible for building a high-end, scripted slate as well as working with producers under the Kew banner, identifying distribution targets and establishing strategic partnerships. Prior to her role with Kew, Stein was EVP Global Scripted Series for eOne; CEO at Alchemy Television, and Head of the Longform Packaging Department at ICM.
