"Afro-Atlantic Histories"

An In-person Tour of the Exhibition at the National Gallery of Art, West Building

REGISTER HERE

Join Nathalie Ryan ’97, Senior Educator in the Department of Interpretation, for a tour of Afro-Atlantic Histories, an exhibition now on view at the National Gallery of Art.

This groundbreaking exhibition explores the many narratives wrought by the transatlantic slave trade and its legacies, as seen through the eyes of artists, and invites reflection on how art shapes our understanding of history and humanity. With 130 works of art from 24 different countries spanning five centuries, the exhibition celebrates the rich art forms and cultures of the African diaspora, and encourages dialogue between past and present.

This is an in-person event. Applicable health protocols will apply. The number of participants will be limited. Please register only if you are committed to attending. Instructions on where to gather will be provided. If the program is booked up, a second session may be scheduled for July.
