"Jeremy Denk In Concert"
An in-person concert and post-concert social hour
Jeremy Denk ’90 is one of the foremost American pianists of his generation. He is the winner of both a MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship and the Avery Fisher Prize. His career has been marked by regular appearances at Carnegie and Royal Albert Halls as well as with the Chicago Symphony, New York Philharmonic, and Cleveland Orchestra. Mr. Denk will perform at Dumbarton Concerts a brand-new program of music by female composers from the 19th century to the present day, featuring works by Clara Schumann, Missy Mazzoli, Amy Beach, and Tania León. Be sure to experience this famously intellectual superstar in a uniquely intimate setting.
Dumbarton Concerts is pleased to partner with the Oberlin Club of Washington, D.C. and invites the DC Oberlin community and friends to historic Dumbarton Church to attend the concert and post-concert social hour to meet the artist. Tickets are $60 per person. When you purchase tickets, go to the "How did you hear about us?" box and write in "Oberlin Club" so that you can get updates about our plans to gather as an Oberlin group. https://www.dumbartonconcerts.org/23-24-tickets
Since 1978, Dumbarton Concerts has been presenting the highest caliber of chamber music in the historic sanctuary of Georgetown’s Dumbarton Church. Now under the umbrella of Dumbarton Arts and Education, the organization is also home to Inspired Child, dedicated to arts curriculum integration for DC’s youngest and most underserved students. Two Oberlin alumni serve the organization: Allan Borut ’65 as a longtime Board member, and Carter Sligh ’13 as the series’ Production Manager.
Please note: the concert is NOT at Dumbarton Oaks – that is a separate organization at a different location. The concert will take place at Dumbarton United Methodist Church, located at 3133 Dumbarton St in Georgetown. Public transportation or taxi is recommended, but if driving is preferred or required, there are the following options: 1) valet is available for $20 cash, 2) there is limited self-parking at Hyde-Addison Elementary School (3219 O St NW), 3) there is a large parking garage located at 1092 Wisconsin Ave., NW, just a few blocks south of the venue, or 4) street parking can usually be found within a few blocks of the church.
We expect this concert to sell out, so we encourage you to purchase your tickets now.
