Oberlin Club of San Francisco Bay Area: Namibia's Changing Tourism Model

Join Obies for an evening talk focused on changes in Southern Africa. Ken Kodama '78 and Balaram Puligandla '76 will discuss their February trip to Namibia, and will touch on the country's tourism efforts, wildlife and socio/economic challenges.

Namibia was the first country in the world to specifically address habitat conservation and the protection of natural resources in its constitution. This led to the establishment of 86 communal conservancies responsible for local wildlife.
