Join a conversation with acclaimed filmmaker Mark Obenhaus ’68 who will discuss the documentary “Cover-Up” which he co-produced and directed with fellow filmmaker Laura Poitras. The film chronicles the career of Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Seymour Hersh whose legendary reporting includes the My Lai massacre, the Watergate scandal, CIA domestic spying, and the torture of prisoners at Abu Ghraib. Hersh provided the filmmakers unique access to archival material on his long career.

Mark Obenhaus ’68 is a producer and director of documentary films. His work has won national Emmys, the British Press Guild Documentary Award, the Alfred duPont-Columbia University Award, the Writers Guild of America Award, and other honors. He has produced news programs for ABC News including Dangerous World: The Kennedy Years and The Kennedy Assassination: Beyond Conspiracy, and produced programs for the PBS series Frontline. At Oberlin, Mark majored in History.
Ted Gest ’68 covered the White House, Supreme Court and Justice Department for U.S. News & World Report. He currently heads the national group Criminal Justice Journalists and edits a daily newsletter, Crime & Justice News. He is a member of the Oberlin College Alumni Leadership Council. At Oberlin, he majored in Government.
